Omnibus I and CSDDD: Less Regulation, More Risk?
Webinar series | 27 May 2026 | 15:00 EET | Online (Zoom)
The Bulgarian Foundation for Business and Human Rights (BFBHR) and the Polish Institute for Human Rights and Business (PIHRB) invite you to a special webinar on the practical implications of the EU „Omnibus I” regulatory package for corporate sustainability due diligence.
The EU’s „Omnibus I” package has introduced significant changes to the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). While often framed as a simplification, these changes raise serious questions about corporate accountability — and may, in practice, increase rather than reduce risk for businesses.
During the webinar, our speakers will address:
- What has actually changed in the CSDDD following „Omnibus I”
- Why the „easing” of requirements may lead to greater risks for companies
- How businesses can prepare in the context of growing expectations related to ESG, forced labour, and greenwashing
- What the financial sector and investors now expect from companies in the region
Speakers will address:
- Olya Peneva — Key changes in the CSDDD following „Omnibus I”
- Beata Faracik — Risks associated with weaker due diligence requirements
- Piotr Kowalik — Expectations of the financial sector and investors
