Już za kilka dni (20 września 2023r.) pierwsze firmy i organizacje podpiszą Kartę Praw Dziecka w Biznesie. Jak czytamy na stronie FOB, inicjatora Karty: Celem Karty Praw Człowieka w Biznesie „jest inspirowanie i mobilizowanie przedsiębiorstw do podejmowania konkretnych działań na rzecz ochrony praw dzieci w całym łańcuchu wartości. Zawiera ona zapisy m.in. o tworzeniu miejsca pracy przyjaznego dla rodziców i wspieraniu ich w godzeniu ról społecznych, odpowiedzialnej sprzedaży i promocji produktów oraz usług adresowanych do dzieci, wdrażaniu standardów dot. wykorzystywania wizerunku dziecka, wymaganiach dla dostawców oraz partnerów biznesowych i społecznych.”

Oficjalna premiera Karty Praw Człowieka w Biznesie odbyła się 17 lipca 2023r. podczas specjalnego posiedzenia Parlamentarnego Zespołu Praw Dziecka, przy ogromnym wsparciu jego przewodniczącej, pani posłanki Moniki Rosy.
Polski Instytut Praw Człowieka i Biznesu z przyjemnością zaangażował się we współtworzenie Karty, wraz z innymi organizacjami i instytucjami. Będziemy również w gronie jej pierwszych sygnatariuszy. Uroczystość odbędzie się 20 września 2023, w Domu Innowacji Społecznych “Marzyciele i Rzemieślnicy” na trzecim piętrze Domu Towarowego Braci Jabłkowskich przy ul. Brackiej 25 w Warszawie w godzinach 13:00-16:30.
Podpisaniu Karty Praw Dziecka w Biznesie towarzyszyć będą warsztaty wokół jej tematyki. Pierwszy z nich, prowadzony przez dr Joannę Szymonek z Polskiego Instytut Praw Człowieka i Biznesu koncentrował się będzie wokół wyzwań organizacyjnych i zarządczych związanych z realizacją praw dziecka oraz narzędzi za pomocą których można na te wyzwania odpowiadać. Żałujemy, że wciąż musimy podejmować temat praw człowieka w obliczu konfliktów zbrojnych. Jednak warsztaty zorganizowane przez prof.
Jerneja Letnara Černiča w Nova University w Lublanie (Słowenia) w dniu 7 marca 2023 r. a więc nieco ponad rok od napaści Rosji na Ukrainę i niemal co do dnia rok od pierwszego webinaru na ten temat zorganizowanego przez nas, były okazją do oceny sytuacji i podsumowania, której trudno nam było sobie odmówić. Oby jak najwięcej podmiotów – firm i organizacji – miało pełną świadomość swojego wpływu w sytuacji konfliktu i podejmowała odpowiedzialne działania.

(27.11.2021) W dniu 27 listopada 2021 r. prezeska zarządu PIHRB wzięła udział w 2021 China Forum on Business and Human Rights, wydarzeniu organizowanym wspólnie przez Human Rights Institute of China University of Political Science and Law oraz Norwegian Human Rights Centre of the University of Oslo. Okazją do dyskusji była oficjalna publikacja chińskiego tłumaczenia książki autorstwa Johan Pace, „weterana” Komisji Praw Człowieka ONZ, „The United Nations Commission on Human Rights, ‘A Very Great Enterprise’ „ , publikowanej przez Oxford University Press.
Do udziału w panelu dedykowanym problematyce praw człowieka w biznesie na forum ONZ zaproszono:
- Profesora Wei Zhang z Institute for Human Rights at the China University of Political Science and Law
- Profesora Gudmundur Alfredsson, były dyrektor Raoul Wallenberg Institute, i emerytowany profesor.

W dniach 11 – 12 listopada odbyło się 2. UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Eastern Europe and Central Asia zorganizowane przez UNDP Regional Hub for Europe and Central Asia przy wsparciu the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights.
W czasie pierwszego dnia Forum zaprezentowano kluczowe wnioski z analizy wdrażania Wytycznych ONZ we wszystkich krajach regionu, opracowaną na zlecenie UNDP Istanbul przez Polski Instytut Praw Człowieka i Biznesu, który koordynował pracę zespołu 3 ekspertów i ekspertek, w skład którego weszli:
- Beata Faracik, LL.M.(HR&IP), MA (Law), MA (IR), Business & HR Expert, President of the Board
- Jernej L. Černič, PhD, Professor of Human Rights and Constitutional Law, Nova University, Slovenia
- Olena Uvarova, Phd, Head of the International Lab on BHR and Assistant professor at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
The 2nd UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Eastern Europe and Central Asia has discussed the national and regional efforts for full implementation of the UNGPs, such as NAPs, corporate human rights due diligence, and the role of the State as an economic actor. In addition, it did address key regional trends, challenges and opportunities for the business and human rights agenda in the ECIS region, such as the upcoming EU’s directive on HRDD, human rights protection in extractive industries, the role of trade unions, persistent discrimination and inequalities in business practices, and shrinking civic space for human rights defenders.
The year 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the authoritative international framework outlining the duties and responsibilities of States and businesses to identify, prevent, mitigate, and remediate business-related human rights impacts. The Guiding Principles have triggered “a smart mix” of mandatory and voluntary measures by many States and have seen uptake by businesses across various regions. However, broader and deeper action to implement the UNGPs is required for States, businesses and other actors to realize a just transition and sustainable development for all.
The Forum has been informed by the work of the UNWG, UNDP as well as regional and national partners on business and human rights in the region. It will offer a deeper analysis of the regional trends, developments, and systemic challenges, highlighted in the upcoming UNDP scoping study on the status of the implementation of the UNGPs in the ECIS region. It will also draw from the recent Report taking stock of the first decade of the implementation of UNGPs by States and businesses conducted by UNWG in the framework of the UNGPs 10+ project.

On 12 October 2021, PIHRB representative contributed as a panelist to the webinar: Business and Human Rights Developments in Central and Eastern Europe, organized jointly by Nova School of Law in Lisbon, the New University in Ljubljana and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law.
Various jurisdictions across the world have adopted National Action Plans in Business and Human Rights and have enacted legislations or are discussing legislative initiatives to regulate companies and prevent adverse human rights and environmental impacts. These developments raise important questions about the adequacy of existing norms and their ability to drive change towards responsible business practices.
Whilst much of the focus so far has been on a small number of countries seen as 'big players’, less attention has turned to jurisdictions in Central and Eastern Europe in which important developments are currently occurring. The aim of this webinar series is to gather scholars, legal practitioners, NGOs, trade unions, business, government representatives, policy advisers, investors, insurers, and other relevant stakeholders from Central and Eastern European jurisdictions in order to provide insights into the current regulatory landscape, and the lessons that can be learned from other jurisdictions.

We are pleased to inform you about the launch of the CEECA Resource Hub on Business and Human Rights, a collaborative space for activists, practitioners, business persons, governments, affected communities, and other stakeholders to share their insight and experience on topics related to business and human rights. The hub serves Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
The CEECA Resource Hub features both introductory and region-specific information on business and human rights topics such as legal frameworks, human rights due diligence, grievance mechanisms, and forms of remedy for abuse. Each page allows users to contribute their own resources and insights, making every page of the platform a collaborative space. Each country in the region also has its own page.
The hub also features an elearning on business and human rights, designed to be accessible for those who do not have a background in BHR language and frameworks. A members directory allows users to find others working on BHR in the region and ask them questions.
The CEECA Resource Hub will be officially launched on October 13, 2021. The launch event will feature stories from activists in the region. You can find more information via this link: bit.ly/3As0Fjb
This launch event for the CEECA Resource Hub will showcase the work of activists working on a wide range of issues in the region, including environmental rights, labour rights and access to remedy. It was focused on stories of how they have fought for justice, awareness and accountability. It also explores the stories of the communities they work alongside. The event will be available in both English and Russian.
